Previous Positions

1961- 1964: Captain, United States Army Dental Service, 576th Dental Detachment. Bad Kreuznach, Germany Attached to the 14th Field Hospital in support of the 8th Infantry Division, Served as Motor Officer and in charge of Field Operations for a fully mobile field dental unit consisting of 50 Officers and enlisted personnel during the Berlin and Cuban crises. During his military service he was awarded a letter of commendation for heroism and certificate of achievement, for outstanding service, from the 9th hospital center.

1975 - 1983: Chairman and Clinical Chief, Division of Dentistry, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California

I was the first Chairman and Clinical Chief of the Division of Dentistry at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. During my tenure I supervised the construction of the seven chair dental facility, directed the development of a 45 dentist professional staff, supervised the training of the ancillary personnel, established a continuing education program for the professional staff and had that program registered with the State Board of Dental Examiners. I wrote the operational protocols, rules and regulations for the dental clinic and inpatient care; established the peer review standards; achieved accreditation for the Dental Division with the American Dental Association Commission on Hospital Accreditation and planned and carried out a joint teaching program with the UCLA School of Dentistry to provide in-service training for third year dental students in the medical center. The Division of Dentistry provided primary care to tens of thousands of indigent patient's during the eight years of my service as Chief of Dentistry.

1982 - 1986: Adjunctive Assistant Professor, School of Dentistry, UCLA

November 1986 - June 1989: Dental Consultant, Southern California Meatcutters June 1989 Unions and Food Employers Pension, Benefit and Supplementary Funds. I conducted all claims review and quality assurance for union members in the geographical area that extended from Bakersfield to the Mexican border.
